CORRElATION BETWEEN ANGIOTENSIN II AND CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS IN PATIENTS WITH ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION
SAHAR ABD EL-ALL ABD ALAH MOHAMED;
Abstract
Coronary heart disease is a multifactorial disease, influenced by environmental and genetic factors. Experimental and clinical data show that the renin angiotensin system has important role in coronary artery disease by influencing progressive ventricular dilatation, ventricular function and out come. Angiotenisn II may have direct toxic effects on myocardial cells, induce hypertrophy in non infarcted areas, activate the symptathetic nervous system, stimulate fibroblast proliferation, vasoconstrict coronary vessels, increase left ventricular after load and impair diastolic relaxation (Rigger, 1996).
The mm of this work is to verify the possible independent role of angiotensin II in the development of IHD in and its contribution to the associated systolic and diastolic ventricular changes in essential hypertensive patients.
