Abstract

The Upper Cretaceous -Lower Tertiary is well exposed in west central Sinai. Two surface sections were measured in Wadi Matulla and Wadi Feiran areas. These sections were classified into Matulla, Sudr, Esna and Thebes Formations from older to younger. 260 foraminiferal species are identified, systematically discussed and most of them are scannmg photographed and shown on 16 plates. The studied sections are classified according to their planktonic content into 13 planktonic zones. These sections are also classified according to their benthonic content into 7 benthonic zones. The following table summaries these two zonations.
