DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES IN MANAGEMENT OF DEVIATED NOSE

Abstract
The deviated or twisted nose is most often of traumatic or congenital origin. The nasal septum should lie in the mid sagittal plane of the face. In. partial deviations only a portions of the nose is involved. When the entire nose is involved the condition is referred to as total deviation (Gubisclt W., 1994).
Nasal deviation can be congenital, deviations acquired in childhood and deviation acquire_d in adult life. Deviation can affect the bony portion of the nose the cartilaginous portion or
• both: Deviations of the septum is on integral part of deviated nose and its correction remains the key to the striaghtening of the deviated nose (McCarthy J.G., 1990).
In this thesis we used different techniques as external cantilever sling, extra corporeal septum plasty and extra mucosal excision of the osseocartilaginous septum and replacement as a free graft.•
