Comparison Between Trans-Peritoneal And Extra-Peritoneal Approaches For Laparoscopic VaricocelectomY
Ashaf Mohamed Ahmed;
Abstract
Laparoscopic varicocelectomy was tried through both trans peritoneal and extra- peritoneal approaches on 30 instances, with primary varicocele, categorized into 2 groups in the purpose of comparing between the 2 performed approaches.
Although there was no statistically significant difference between the 2 approaches in the absence of the reflux or the decline in the size of the spermatic veins as proved by duplex assessment, extra-peritoneal approach has the advantages of avoiding all possible complications of the trans-peritoneal approach as well as, it provides the extent which permits ligation of any varicose collaterals.
