Abstract

In th e view of th e rap id changes in economical, socia l and cultura l effects this work was carried out to eva luate the nutri t ional status of adolescents represented by the pupil s in preparatory schools of Minufiya govern orate. A tota l num ber of200 pupils by both sex from 5 sch ools at urban and rural were involved . Socio economic factors were considered, being age, sex, m arita l status, parents ed ucat ion and occupation, family s ize and in come. The 24 h ou r rcc811 method was appli ed to obt8in in for m e1tion about the nutr ients consu m ed dail y, which were ca l cul ated as percent of RDA (1989). A questionn a ire was used to study diet h istory and food h abits. Anth ropometric measurements included vvei ght (Wt. kg), h eight ( Ht, em) body mass ind ex BMI (kg/m2) mid-upper arm circumference (AC, em) triceps sk in fold thickn ess (TSF, mm) and mid-up per a rm muscle circumference (AMC, em ).
