Abstract


Infection with hepatitis C virus in hemodialysis unit concerned with a significant morbidity and mortality rate because it is the most serious problem not only due to a burden of illness and costs of prolonged admission on the patient, but also it increases the cost of investigation and treatment on the hospital. Hospital acquired infection carries the risk of spread of infection to other patients (Mahrous, 2016).
Universal precautions in the healthcare setting include correct usage and disposal of disposable syringes, needles and lancets, and introduction of needle, disinfecting work areas and wearing of gloves and protective clothes.
