Neurophysiological Study of Patients With Premature Ejaculation

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to assess the penile sensitivity in patients with premature ejaculation .


This study was carried out on 30 adult males

20 adult males

complaining of premature ejaculation for at least I year and I 0 normal
adult males as a control group .

The age of all subjects ranged from 20 to 40 years of ( 31.5 ± 5.5 years ) .

with a mean age


Each group was subdivided into two subgroups regarding the age:


o The control group :


-subgroup (a):- age ranged from 20 to 30 years.


- subgroup (b) :- age ranged from 31 to 40 years.


o The patients group:


- subgroup ( c) : age ranged from 20 to 30 years.

- subgroup (d) : age ranged from 31 to 40 years.

All subjects were fully examined medically , neurologically andrologically .

Proper laboratory tests were carried out also , ( unne analysis1 ,

prostatic smear , blood sugar , testosterone and prolactin levels ) to
'
exclude any factor affecting the results .

For each case , cortical and sacral pudendal somatosensory evoked

potentials ( SSEPs ) testing were done using skin electrodes
