Abstract

This thesis deals With the study of palynostratigraphy of Jurassic - Lower Cretaceous rocks in nmthem Western Desert, Egypt. The bases of this study is established through the detailed study of the palynomorphs gained from the stratigraphic succession of five wells (Salam- 4. Salam-16, Tut- lX, HazeJn- IX and Falak-
3X) drilled in north Western Desert.

• From the above mentioned wells about 193 cutting samples have been prepared for palynological investigations. The distribution of these samples are as follows :

* Salam- 4: 47 cutting samples have been investigated covering the interval from 9000 to 11900 ft.

* Salam-16: 4i cutting samples have been investigated covering the interval from 9000 to 11200 ft.

* Tut- lX: 41cutting samples have been investigated covering the interval from 10200 to 13050 ft.

* Hazem- lX: 26 cutting samples have been investigated covering the interval from 11190 to 14700 ft.

* Falak -3X: 38 cutting samples have been investigated covering the interval from 10440 to 13500 ft.
