Abstract


The outcomes of consultations may be classified as immediate, intermediate, or long term. Immediate outcomes from the consultation
include .patient satisfactio.n, recall of the physician's explanations and
instructions, and changes in the patients' concern about their symptoms. Intermediate outcomes refer to the patient's compliance ith the physician's recommendations. Finally, the long-term outcome of gre test Importance is the change in the patient's health statLIS. Health outcomes are gaining Prominence as valida:ions of the effectiveness of the physician-patient interaction, particularly as brief summary measures of functional status and general wellbeing has been developed. (Bertakis,
2000)

The aim of' this study was to study tile quality ol' ;•onsultatiou regarding its duration and outcomes in terms of enablement (satisfaction) and compliance. The main duration of consultation in our study was (6.7) minutes. About 68% the physician consultation the duration was :55 minutes. So that most patients not taking enough consultation time
regarding I 0 minutes consultation.

The mean enablement score in our study was ( 4.4 ). Howie et al
