Abstract

It is worthy to mention that the use of molluscicides of plant origin is a good method for controlling of vector snails. This method safes money, time and extraction or industrial processes of chemical mollusclcldes as well as It safes application to the environment and all living organisms which are coexisted with the vector snails in the same habitat. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate the molluscicidal activity of two plants. Euphorbia peplus and Sesbania sesban, which are naturally grown herb and easily cultivated shrub, at the river banks in endemic areas. In addition, assessment the mode of action of the potent plant on the most common target and non- target snails, Biomphalaria alexandrina and Lanistes carinatus. Thus, cytological and pathological changes could be suspected by chronic exposure of the animals to the tested plant molluscicide.
