Abstract

Search for new anticancer compounds still feverish to avoid the undesirable hannful effect of chemicals on the host, thus one of the goals of cancer research has been conducted. In the present study the effect of two different crude venoms Cerastes, cerastes venom and cerastes, vipera venom
were tested using two tumor models in two different mice strains.
Cerastes, cerastes venom "Desert Viper Snake" and cerastes, vipera
venom "Sabra Viper Snake" are used as natural crude contains different
proteins and toxins, commonly found in Middle East particularly in Egypt.

Toxicity studies were conducted on adult female Swiss mtce to detennine the LD50 of crude venom also tested on RIIVSa mice for Cerastes, cerastes venom only.

Treatment of Ehrlich tumor-bearing mice with one S.C injection of LD20., I J.tg) of CCV was found to reduce the tumor volume by 52% and increase the survival by 30 days while CVV increase the mice survival about I 5 days and reduce the tumor with 48% .

Accordingly, ninety female Swiss albino mice were assorted into 6 equal groups of mice namely; group I Nonnal control (N.C), group II nonnal treated with CCV (N-Tr 1), group III nonnal-treated with CVV (N-tr 2), group IV tumor (T), group (V) twnor-treated with CCV (T-tr I*) and group VI tumor-treated with CVV (T-tr 2*).
