Doaa Feasal EI-Sayed Aly EI-Moghazy;
Abstract
The present study was planned to. investigate pseudomonas septicemia in cultured tilapias (Oreochromus niloticus).
The studies were carried out on 180 (Oreochromus niloticus) collected randomly from a special fish farm, Dakahlia Govemorate.
The clinical picture of the diseased fish were characterized by anorexia, dark colouration, sluggishness, swimming in vertical position, fin and tail rot, erythema at the base of fins and in the mouth and arround the anus, haemorrhages widly distributed on the body, exophthalmia with comeal opacity, detachment of scales and anal protmsion.
In the present study, 75 bacterial isolates of pseudomonas species were detected and identified as Pseudomonas jluorescens, Pseudomonas anguilliseptica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas putida (40%, 34.66%, 16% and 9.3% respectively) causing pseudomonas septicaemia.
