Abstract

Chronic renal failure (CRF) is defined as irreversible, substantial, and usually long-standing loss of renal function causing ill-health, usually referred to as uremia .

Few data are available about the immunologic changes associated with the initiation of hemodialysis therapy. Before the initiation of hemodialysis, the uremic disturbance has come to a maximum. Hemodialysis treatment may improve many signs and symptoms of uremia and thus is expected to improve cellular immune function, as well as the release of proinflammatory cytokines and To measure in chronic hemodialysis children the extent to which the individual cytockine level cottelates with set of clinical and laboratory features evocative for physical development.

Thirty three uremic children (19 boys and 14 girls) between 3 and 18 years of age undergoing chronic- hemodialysis for at least one year (three times weekly, 3 hours each session) , Thirty three patients with chronic renal failure not necessitating dialysis and under conservative treatment were also included. girl, their age ranged A third group that comprised ,Thirty three age and sex matched healthy children served as a control group was used for the sole purpose of providing the reference normal value. This helped having a reference image for description of parameters, All groups were age and sex matched.
