Abstract
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia is a form of chronic lung disease that develops in 20% of neonates who require mechanical ventilation. BPD has emerged as one of the most frequent and clinically significant complication of prematurity.
Immaturity barotrauma and oxygen toxicity have been considered major factors in the etiology ofBPD during the neonatal period. Infection was proved that it is a part of the pathogenesis ofBPD.
