Development of capsules containing a formulation of probiotic bacteria and a prebiotic for therapeutic use
Hebat Allah Ibrahim Abdelazeem Youssef;
Abstract
The objective of this study was summarized in the following points:
- Screening and evaluating probiotic potentials of new LAB isolated from raw unpasteurized milk of Cow and samples of young calves' ileum.
- Selection of probiotic capable of induction of apoptosis of colorectal cancer cell line.
- Development of multi-species mixture of the selected probiotic bacteria with synergistic effect.
- Molecular identification of the selected isolates.
- Production of gelatin capsules containing the prebiotic inulin and freeze-dried mixture of the selected probiotic bacteria.
- Studying the survival of the freeze-dried powders of the probiotics during a 3 months storage period.
The results proved that the survival rate of the tested isolates at pH 2 ranged from 75% to 92% and superior resistance to the simulated small intestinal juice as they showed yielded survival
