Comparative Evaluation of RootCanal Preparation Using Two Single File Systems (Clinical and Experimental study)
RASHA SAMEH MAHFOUZ IBRAHIM;
Abstract
he purpose of this study was to compare and evaluate experimentally and clinically some feature outcomes of reciprocating and rotational file systems and the impact of glide path establishment prior to instrumentation.
The experimental section of the study firstly evaluated and compared amount of apical extrusion of debris after preparation with the two file systems with or without glide path preparation using quantitative method by pre and post preparation weighting of the Enpedroff collecting the apically extruded debris during the canal preparation.
Secondly evaluated and compared the cleaning efficacy of different test groups regarding the amount of debris and smear layer in different thirds of the root canal using Environmental scanning electron microscope.
Thirdly evaluated and compared the shaping ability and canal anatomy preservation regarding canal transportation, centering ratio in different thirds of the root canal; canal curvature change and root canal volume change of different test groups using Cone Beam computed tomography (CBCT).
The clinical trial section of the study compared and evaluated post-operative pain after the root canal preparation in accordance to the setting of different test groups using self-administrated Visual Analog Scale (VAS). In addition, the secondary outcome was days to complete pain stop for different groups.
