Studies on The Effect of Some Inhibitors on The Corrosion Behaviour of Alumonium and Zinc in Some Aqueous Solutions

Mohamed A.bdel Monim Deyab Ghanim;

Abstract

Studies of electrochemistry of metals are very important fields
for scientific and industrial work. The present work includes
detailed studies on the corrosion inhibition of zinc and
aluminium in 1.0 M of sulphuric and hydrochloric acid by
some ethoxylated fatty acids [ OL(E0)20 , OL(E0)40 and
OL(E0)80] due to the increased industrial applications of these
materials.
Two techniques were used in these studies
i) Chemical (weight loss) technique
ii) Electrochemical (potentiodynamic polarization) technique.
The present work consists of numerous chapters:-
1) Chapter (I) gives a general introduction on the corrosion
studies, and gives also a literatures survey on the corrosion
inhibition of Zn and Al in aqueous media.
2) Chapter (II) includes the experimental part. This includes
preparation of the various solutions, electrodes and
methods for testing corrosion.
3) Chapter (III) includes the results and discussion of the
corrosion inhibition of Zn and Al in the two acid solutions.
