Abstract


Pregnancy induces anatomical and physiological changes in the urinary tract .In this condition asymptomatic bacteriuria may lead more frequently to pyelonephritis Asymphmetic bacteriuria in pregnant women has therefore got to be treated. According to recent studies long course antibiotherapy did not prove to be more effective than a single dose one in the case of A symptomatic bacteriuria. More over , the maternal and foetal toxicity should be reduced in the latter regims
In this study a total of 88 pregnant women with significant pyuria on urine analysis and culture (colony count≥ 105 (CFU)/MI
Their age range from20 – 37 were included in this study and counseled regarding
Mode of intervention and informed consent pregnant women attained .All cases were subjected to routine antenatal examination and investigations
In addition to colouny count , culture and sensitivity
