Abstract
Se-Te-S chalcogenide system has more advantages than Se-Te binary system or amorphous Se. This ternary system, Se-Te-S, has long lifetime and is sensitive for xerographic application in addition to its thermal stability.
In this work, the structure of Se0.s.xTeo2Sx system (0.0 5 X 5 0.40 at.) has been studied using Rietveld refinement, radial distribution function; RDF, and thermal
analysis methods. Different techniques have been used to examine the composition and the state of the as-prepared and annealed specimens of Se0.8.xTeo.2Sx system. These techniques are energy dispersive spectrometer, EDS, scanning electron microscopy, SEM;. X,ray diffraction, XRD and differential scanning calorimetry, DSC.
The combineq •'techniques show that the prepared specimens are ho111ogeneous and in glassy state. From this study, it can be concluded that:
• The as-prep;jred Seo.8.xTeo.2Sx (X=O, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and O: •a;:)are in amorphous state.
• The _density and molar-volume of this glassy system
dec ilsed with increasing the sulfur content.
