Abstract

In the present study, injection sclerotherapy was applied to

12 patients representing 21 limbs complaining from primary varicose veins in the form of disfigurement (in I 0 patients), aching pain (5 patients) and both complaints were present in (3 patients).

All patients were females. Their ages ranged between 19 and 45 years old. The varicose veins showed small-unnamed spiders in II limbs and large dilated tubular or serpentine veins in I 0 limbs. The large varicosities related to either long or short
saphenous system and one limb showed Klipple Trenuany syndrome. This clinical findings were confirmed by venous duplex.

Three sclerosants were used in injection sclerotherapy:

0.5% Aethoxysclerol, 20% Hypertonic saline added to 2% Lidocaine and 5.% Ethanolamine Oleate in groups (I, 2 and 3) respectively. All limbs were bandaged for at least 3 weeks after injection.
