Abstract
In summary plasma leptin levels are increased in LGA decreased in SGA infants than in AGA group. The level is directly. proportional to adipose tissue mass. Furthermore, the physiological neonatal weight loss in associated with an acute decrease in the leptin level during the first 3 days of life and it is elevated again by 4the day of life. probably as a result of extrauterine adaptation.
