Abstract


The aim of the present study was to compare between the effect of hypotonic intravenous fluid infusion,(Group I), isotonic intravenous fluid infusion,(Groupii),oral water with one time dismopressine acetate nasal spray,(Groupiii) and oral water,(GroupiV) on the amniotic fluid volume and pregnancy outcome in cases of oligohydramnios among pregnant women attending the antenatal care unit in Obstetric Department at Tanta University Hospital.



Our patients should have the following criteria:Singletone pregnancy, living fetus without malformations, and well established gestational age:2"d trimester, (<28 wk )and 3'd trimester,(::: 28wk) with intact membranes.



We exclude maternal complications as: hypertension, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, evidence of pre-eclampsia, or fetal malformations, and evidence of fetal distress on non stress test, women at risk of fluid overload such as those with cardiac/ renal impairment or multiple pregnancies, rupture of membranes, users of prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors. We also excluded women who could not drink the prescribed amount of water (2 L) in 2h or vomited after attempting to do so.
