Type 1 diabetes. It is associated with other auto-immune disorder one of them is celiac disease which has ahigh prevelace rate among type 1 DM reaching (6%-16%).
In view of this data we measured Anti-tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (anti-tTG), IgA class among newly diagnosed type1 diabetic patients which is the primary test ordered to screen for celiac disease. It is the most sensitive and specific blood test for celiac disease.
This case control study was carried out on 50 child with newly diagnosed type1 diabetes mellitus (25 male and 25 female) attended to Pediatric Diabetes clinic, Pediatric Hospital, Ain Shams University from August 2015 to December 2015. Another group of 15 age and sex –
