Oxygenation Parameters in Mechanically Ventilated Critically Ill Patients
Samia Hassan Hamed;
Abstract
Measurements of arterial blood gases and pH are useful for initially evaluating pulmonary function in critically ill patients.Tension based indices driven from the ABG are of a good value in evaluation and assesment of pulmonary oxygenation and follow up in mechanical ventilated patients.
Follow up of these tension based indices (A-a DO,, PaO,/PA02, PaO,/FiO,and A-a DO,fPaO,) was done in different stages and modes of ventilatory support and finally after complete weaning from mechanical ventilation.
