Abstract
Pain relief during labour is now regarded as beneficial component of proper obstetric care.
There are different methods for pain relief during labour as psychological methods, physical methods, inhalation analgesia, systemic analgesia, local anesthesia and regional anesthesia.
Successful use of each method requires knowledge of the technique, advantages, disadvantages, dosages, and route of administration for the method to be both successfu l and safe for both mother and fetus.
