This study was conducted on one hundred newborn patients with low Apgar scores at one and five minutes compared to thirty
healthy newbom controls at the neonatolo b'Y intensive care unit in El Shatby
Children's University Hospital of Alexandria University.
The aim of the work was to assess the cranial ultrasound findings of the brain of the newboms with low Apgar score.
Thorough clinical assessment of patients and controls, including history of the mode of delivery, one and five minute Apgar scores
and complete clinical examination was done. Routine laboratory investigations, including complete blood count, serum electrolytes and renal functions were conducted.
