ULTRASOUND IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF OVARIAN MASSES

Marwa Abd-El-Sattar EI-Dibe;

Abstract

Pelvic ultrasonography is considered an appeating alternative to laparoscopy in diagnosing ovarian mass lesion, it is highly sensitive, specific and accurate.
The introduction of transvaginal ultrasound can better demonstrate the morphologic features of ovarian pathology. When ultrasound is indeterminate and cannot specifically identify the pathology, the introduction of CT or MRI can play a valuable role.
