Abstract
Serum circulating intercellular adhesion•molecule-1 (ciCAM-1) by ELISA technique and Alpha fetoprotein by RIA were measured in 63 patients. 39 of them were having cirrhosis, 24 suffered from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)&lO normal controls. Mean ciCAM-1 in HCC patients showed statistically high significant difference from the controls and the cirrhotic patients, and it was more sensitive than AFP in diagnosing HCC in patients with normal AFP. So we suggest that measurement of ciCAM-1 may be an important marker for early
