Abstract

cute myocardial infarction (MI) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Myocardial infarction occurs when ischemia exceeds the critical threshold. Ischemia at this critical threshold level for an extended period results in irreversible myocardial cell damage or death.
It is controversial whether CRP is a marker or rather a predictor risk factor for atherosclerotic CVD. HsCRP has been utilized to detect low levels of inflammation and thus future Risk of atherosclerosis.
The benefits of statin in primary and secondary prevention for coronary artery disease are well established. In case of STEMI the ESC Guidelines state that a high dose statin should be initiated as soon as possible irrespective of the initial cholesterol level as it has a beneficial effect (pleiotropic effect) on myocardial remodeling and hence on the outcome of the patient including total MACCE. Pretreatment with statin before percutaneous coronary intervention has been shown to reduce myocardial injury and improve clinical outcomes in patients with stable angina, or non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). However, there are limited data on the cardio protective effect of statin pretreatment in pati
