ANTIMUTAGbJVIC ACTIVITY OF SEVERAL NATURAL PRODUCTS IN THE METABOLIC ACTIVITY OFHETEROCYCLIC AMJNES

Asmaa Abu Bakr El-Seddik Mohamed;

Abstract

The present study deals with antimutagenic activity of some natural products which are : Nigella sativa extract, garlic powder, and sesame oil.

This study used six heterocyclic aromatic amines which are potent mutagens to evaluate the antimutagenic activity of these natural compounds. These heterocyclic amines are :
1 )3-amino-1-methyi-5-H pyrido [4, 3-b] indo!, (Trp-p-2)

2)2-amino-6-methyldipyrido-[1,2-a:3', 2'-d]imidazole (Glu-p-1).

3) 2-amino-3-methyLimidazo [4, 5-f] quinoline (IQ).

4) 2-amino-3,8 dimethyLimidazo[4, 5-f] quinoxaline (MeiQx).

5) 2-A.mino fluorine (2-AF).

6) 2-acetyl amino fluorine (2-AAF).

Ames technique was used to estimate the mutagenic activity of these heterocyclic aromatic amines which depends on special strain of bacteria (Salmonella typhimurium TA 98) in the presence of mammalian liver microsomes.
