DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY AND STABILITY OF TWO ELASTOMERIC IMPRESSION MATERIALS USING RECENT MIXING TECHNIQUES AND DIFFERENT POURING TIMES
HESHAM AHMED RASHED;
Abstract
This study investigated the dimensional accuracy and stability of both polyether and poly-vinyl siloxane. The study included the effect of using custom-trays versus stock-trays, applying different viscosities, pouring the impressions at different times and repeating each pour.
Using recent mixing systems namely, mechanical system for polyethers and auto-mixing for poly-vinyl siloxane, insured the elimination of human variability during impression mixing of both the base and the catalyst ,thus, increasing the credibility of the results.
Impressions were made for a stainless-steel master model made with three uniformlly distributed abutments to simulate a full-arch preparation. Impressions were then poured with improved stone into stone casts, according to times under investigation.
