Abstract

•The central position of the vitreous dictates its pi1 oral role in retinal disease. This involvement is mainly mechanical Lc:, through traction. The study represents an effort to quantih• this traction.

The study group consisted of 56 subjects who were compDsnl uf

12 high myopes comprising group 1 (further di1•ided into a group of 6 subjects with no other retinal affection and > norlwr group of 6 with macular ho.le), 24 subjects with diabetic retinoJ'athy were also included and formed group Jl of the study. The group pf
