Naglaa El-Sayed Mahday Mohamed;

Abstract

I.V. infusion therapy is a common practice and it is an essential element in the treatment of the patients. The effect of nursing management on the patients undergoing intravenous infusion therapy is very important to be studied. Inspite of, it can save the patients' life, it can create significant threat to health because any fluid or medications that enters a vein has an immediate effect, and can't be recalled, so there is no margin for error in its administration. So LV. therapy requires a nurse's professional accountability and skill who applies the nursing process from initiation until discontinuation of LV. therapy, as well as promoting the patients' comfort and protecting them from the potential complications associated with LV. therapy. So, poor nursing management will predispose the patients for these complications, worsen their condition, and may die.
