Evaluation of Water Resources in the Area Between Quseir - Safaga, Nonhero Red Sea coast, Egvpt
Mohamed Hamdan Atallalh Dabash;
Abstract
ntegrated geomorphological, hydrogeological, and hydrogeoc
hemical as well as surface geophysical studies have been carried out on the northern part of the Red Sea area, Egypt to evaluate the water
resources (surface runoff and groundwater).
The study area is hydromorphologically subdivided into three units; namely, the watershed areas (Red Sea mountains and the hilly
terrains), the water collectors (the morphotectonic depressions and the
• hydrographic basins), and the costal plain. The morphotectonic
depressions represent by Mohammed Rabah and Wassif depressions in Wadi Safaga, El Saqi depression in Wadi Queh and El Duwi depression in Wadi El Nakhiel. The major hydrographic basins are mainly Safaga,
Queh, El Ambagi and Esse!basins.
