Abstract

This Study deals with the utilization of certain tlignocellulosic residues for production of proteins and
lipids by locally isolated strains of filamentous ftmgi. The
following results were obtained:

1- Chemical analysis of wheat straw, rice straw, broad bean stalks, com cobs and cane bagasse revealed that:

-Carbohydrates content is: 12.5-20.8%.

-Nitrogen content is: 0.46-1.0%•

-Protein content is: 2.87-6.25%•

-Lipid content is: 7.98-8.80%•

2- Analysis of acid hydrolysate of the lignocellulosic residues revealed the presence of:

- Sugars: sucrose, maltose, glucose, fructose, galactose, arabinose and xylose.•

Amino acids:: cysteine, cystine, histidine, argmme, threonine, valine, phenylalanine, leucine and isoleucine.
