FACTORS AFFECTING PROGNOSIS OF TRAUMATIC SUBARACHNOID HAEMATOMA

Abstract
This thesis was conducted in ER department of Neurosurgery in Minia University Hospitals during the period from September 2004 to May 2005 on fifty patients. Thirty-six patients were males and 14 patients were females. The • age of the patients ranged from 5 to 70 years and the•mean age ± SD equalled
35.38 ± 17.68 years and the patients were classified into three groups; less than
16 years old, between 16 and 40 years old and above the age of forty years old. Sixty-two percent came due to MY A, 30% came due to FFH and 8% came due to head trauma. Males constituted 70.9% of patients came due to MYA and
29.1% were females while 73.3% of patients who came due to FFH were males and 26.7% were females. Seventy-five percent of patients came due to HT were males and 25% were l'emales.
