Abstract
Recently, a significant progress has been made in the development of anti viral chemotherapy due to the discovery of nucleoside analogs with potent anti viral activities such as acyclovir!. 9-(2-Hydroxyethoxy-methyl)guanine 1, which has been licensed mark for treatment of a variety of herpes virus infections, including herpetic keratitis, primary gentile herpes, mucocutaneous herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella - Zoster virus (VZV) infections in immunosuppressed patients.
