THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF L-CARNOSINE ON PARENCHYMATOUS ORGANS IN ETHANOL INTOXICATED ALBINO RATS

Abstract

lt produces a wide spectrum of liver disease ; alcoholic heart disease ; and 'Significant renal dysfunction . While the •ethanol-induced deleterious effects was established , the characteristic properties of camosine as a new antioxidant is broadly developing . The main goal of this present •study is to investigate the effect 'Of camosine on ethanol-induced deleterious •effects through the assessment of certain biochemical and histopathological parameters . It was found that the pre & post-administration of camosine with ethanol were associated with much more protective effects that the co-administration 'Of camosine . This effect was Dbvious on the heart and liver but did not extend to involve the kidneys to the same degree .
