Study of chemokine receptor CXCR3 exPression in B-chronic lymphocytic leukemia and B-cell lymphomas

Sherein Mohamed Ibrahim Shaaban;

Abstract

The control of cell migration in the immune system is mediated by several chemokines and their receptors. The chemokine receptor CXCR3 was found to be widely expressed on activated T cells.
The aim of this work was to analyze the expression of CXCR3

chemokine receptors on normal B-lymphocytes obtained from healthy donors (15 subject) and on malignant B cells from patients with B cell malignancies (20 cases ofB- CLL and 12 cases ofB- NHL).
CXCR3 expression in both B-CLL and B-NHL was higher and showed

high significance when compared with control. Positive correlations were found between CXCR3 expression and staging, white blood cell count, lymphocyte percentage and CD20.
In conclusion: Our results demonstrated that CXCR3 might be a

hallmark in B cell malignancies.
