Abstract


Trauma is the most serious and major health problem in developed and developing countries. Trauma is the leading cause of death in the first four decades of life.
Trauma care covers a spectrum starting from the scene of the accident right through to the end of rehabilitation. A systematic approach that aims to identifY and treat both immediately and potentially life threatening conditions is required.
TI1e aim of this work was to evaluate and to compare early hospital management of patients with multiple traumas presenting to the casualty and emergency departments of the Main Alexandria University Hospital and Gamal Abd El Nasser Health Insurance Hospital At Alexandria, and to apply a suggested protocol for initial assessment and management priorities.
The study was conducted on I 00 multiply injured patients, who were divided into two groups:
Group I: included 50 patients were admitted to Alexandria Main University


Hospital.


Group II: included 50 patients were admitted to Gamal Abd EI-Nasser


Health Insurance Hospital.
