Abstract

Food allergy is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The increase dietary antioxidant consumption linked with reactuction in food allergy risk and boosts the immune system. several classes of phytochemicals found in nature plant materials such as phenolic acids, polyphenols, carotenoids, tocopherols and phytosterols as well as ascorbic acid. Therefore, pomegranate juice (PJ) spirulina platensis extract (SP) and echinacea purpurea extract (EP) were evaluated for their phenolic and flavonoid contents as well as antioxidant activities in terms of scavenging DPPH free radicals. Pomegranate extract was characterized by high total phenolics (2.15 mg gallic acid/ml) and have great scavenging activity (93%). Identification of phenolic compounds showed high amount of ellagic acid, pyrogallol, catechein, benzoic, syringic, gallic, aminobenzoic, protocatechuic, catechol, epicatechein, caffeine, p- hydroxy benzoic, caffeic, vanillic, p-coumaric, ferulic, α-coumaric and salycilic. Identification of flavonoids shows high amount of rutin, quercitrin, hisperidin, quercetrin, luteolin, kampferol, narengin and rosmarinic. Formulated pomegranate beverage (FPB) prepared from pomegranate juce mainly incorporated with spirulina platensis extract, echinacea purpurea extract different ratios and sweetened by steviosid according to the most appropriate concentration for each extract based on phagocytosis inhibitory assay. Immunological tests showed high significant increase in phagocytosis of macrophages for Formulated pomegranate beverage (FPB). Formulated pomegranate beverage (FPB) was subjected to medical biochemical evaluations this was performed on 20 healthy people do not suffer from any disease and 120 with sensitivity patients. Such as urticaria, rhinitis and asthma as well as those with 20 immunodeficiency individual. The results proved the effectiveness of natural extracts mixture in enhancing the response and reduce food allergies and immune deficiency symptoms. The results proved the effectiveness of natural extracts mixture in enhancing the response and reduce food allergies and immune deficiency symptoms. And could used in the treatment scheduled for each patient, to improve the functions of the immune system and reduce skin allergy symptoms, sinus and chest. Therefore, based on the assessments that pomegranate juice (PJ), spirulina platensis (SP) and echinacea purpurea (EP) can supplement drinks to improve the functions of the immune system to prevent of as allergies and immunodeficiency.
