ACUTE HEMODYNAMIC EFFECTS OF RIGHT VENTRICULAR BIFOCAL PACING IN PATIENTS WITH CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE
MOHAMED ABDEL ZAHER AHMED;
Abstract
Despite drug treatment ofCHF the quality oflife is poor. The effects of acute pacing at two sites in the right ventricle (apex "RVA" & outflow tract "RVOT')individually & simultaneously i.e.bifocal pacing on QRS, axis and C.O. were studied by transthoracic echocardiography to measure C.O. in NSR, AAI pacing, DDD pacing in RVA, DDD pacing in RVOT, and DOD pacing bifocal. ECG was done during each pacing mode to measure QRS duration & axis. Improvement in CO & narrowing ofQRS duration found during RVOT & bifocal pacing. Normalization of the axis found during RVOT pacing.
