Abstract


Embolic events during pregnancy are the leading contributor to maternal mortality it includes thromboembolic, Amniotic fluid embolism, venous air embolism. During anesthesia manifestation of embolic disease are non specific and needs high index of suspicion.
Amniotic fluid embolism usually associated with DIC, caponography is the most sensitive measures for diagnosis of venous air embolism. The management of embolic disease during anesthesia is directed towards maintain of oxygenation, support circulation, correction of coagulopathy.
