Summary
U
nexplained infertility represents a significantclinical problem, the evaluation and management of whichleave a lot to be desired. The lack of universally accepteddiagnostic criteria makes it difficult to study this problembecause of the heterogeneity in the samples selected forstudy. Agreement on the definitions is a first step in thisprocess of creating homogeneous groups for study.
The Practice Committee of the American Society forReproductive Medicine (ASRM) has published guidelinesfor a standard infertility evaluation. It includes semenanalysis, assessment of ovulation, hysterosalpingiogram,and/or laparoscopy, when the results of a standard infertilityevaluation are normal, practitioners assign a diagnosis ofunexplained infertility, Unexplained infertility account is approximately 15% to30%.
H. pylori is a Gram-negative bacterium responsiblefor the large majority of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers andmucosal-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.
The pathogenicity of H. pylori infection depend on theinflammatory response to chronic infection, including thestrain-specific factors, the host's immune response, andenvironmental factors.
By the end of this study, data of 68 participants (34women in group 1 and 34 women in group 2) werestatistical analyzed.
The mean age of included women was26.26 in cases group and 27.65 in control group.Regarding type of infertility in the study group; 9were complaining of secondary infertility (26.5%), and 25women were complaining of primary infertility (73.5%).The mean of the duration of infertility in case group is 2.54In Conclusion, in women with unexplained infertility,H. Pylori IgG antibody in the serum and the cervical mucusWas insignificantly prevalent compared with that in fertilewomen.
