Analytical Study for Risk Management in Touristic Projects In Egypt within the View of Economical and Political Variables

Abstract


This study is an attempt to record the effect of political and
economical variables that took place in Egypt in 2007 with the global
financial crisis passing by the Egyptian revolution of 25th of January
2011 that affected the construction of Egyptian touristic projects, it
aims at providing a guide for project managers or any other project
party about new vocabulary of risk management or risks facing the
project that were rarely used in Egyptian construction projects.
A systematic methodology used starting by literature review to spot
the light on previous researches that were dealing with projects risk
management to provide a foundation for this research, and then the
study moved to basic definitions of risk management science as a
theoretical base that is mainly approved by international institutes
specially PMI (Projects Management Institute).
Also providing a detailed definition for the risk management
process that starts with the planning of the risk until providing the
risk response needed discussing the process from several point of
views such as European community, PMI and others that provided
studies in this field.
To enhance the strategic thinking of risk and supporting the fact of
solving risk in a strategic actions (country plan), a strategic view for
risk management especially in the field of tourism industry was
discussed through two examples of Turkish experience and the

Malaysian experience in facing the global financial crisis and spotting
the light on the role of country planning in facing different risks.
Then discussing the situation in Egyptian touristic projects through
case studies based on site visits and interviews with Projects
responsible to study different risks facing the construction of touristic
projects due to economical and political variables in different cities of
Egypt such as Cairo in the case of nile ritz carlton, sharm elsheikh in
the sharm elsheikh city stars and hurghada in Egypt in a day
