STUDY OF FACTORS AFFECTING WOMEN HEALTH DEVELOPMENT IN ALEXANDRIA

Abstract
Women are the cornerstones of the family. They assume responsibility for many of its vital functions. Therefore, the health of women is a prerequisite for the health of the whole family, community and society.
Women have health needs above and beyond those related to
pregnancy and motherhood. Their health problems take different forms at different stages of their lives and in different parts of the world.
Women health is considered to contribute to development in two ways: first; ensuring biological reproduction and the survival of the children. Second; their potential participation in the• development of health programs and services to benefit the entire population.
Determination of women health status of any country is of great importance to develop plans to improve the status of women health and allow comparison with other countries.
This study was carried out to identify the degree of women health development in Alexandria City. This objective was fulfilled through portraying their socio-demographic profile, health status and some of their life style aspects.
