Relationship between Job Stress and Quality of Work Life among Staff Nurses

Abstract


Reducing job stress and elevating the perception of quality of work life contributes to higher levels of satisfaction with the provided nursing care and increasing productivity that positively influences health outcomes that lead to organizational success.
The study aimed at exploring the relationship between job stress and quality of work life among staff nurses through measuring job stress level among staff nurses, determining quality of work life perception among staff nurses and finding out the relationship between job stress and quality of work life among staff nurses.
This study was conducted at critical and non critical care units in Ain Shams University specialized hospital which affiliated to Ain Shams University using descriptive comparative correlational design. The subject for the study included staff nurses assigned to work in aforementioned setting during data collection period. Their total number is 189 nurses. 118 nurses in critical care units and 71 nurses from non critical care units with a minimum of one year experience.
