Abstract


In recent years, ultrasound and injection of L.A drugs into trigger points have been used extensively for treatment of patients with M.P.O. with considerable success .
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ultrasound and trigger point injection by local anesthetic in patients with M.P.D syndrome, also it is aimed to investigate the subjective signs & symptoms associated , and the etiologic factors initiating this syndrome.
A sample of 30 patients suffering from M.P.D.S seen at the faculty of Oral and Dental medicine Cairo University was included in this study they were randomly classified into 2 groups.
The first groups are 12 women , 3 men treated by L.A trigger Point injection by Marcaine lc.c in each Point once per week for 3 successive weeks.
The second group arc 12 women , 3 men received ultrasound therapy


, tht•ce sessions per week for 3 weeks and each session lasted 5 minutes.
The severity of the case is evaluated by the electromyogram before and after tt•eatment.
