A
utism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) indicates a diverse group of complex heterogeneous neuro-developmental conditions influencing the ability to relate to and communicate, as they are characterized by a wide range of cognitive, emotional and neurobehavioural abnormalities. The main core symptoms include impairments in social skills and communication, restricted interests, repetitive and stereotypic verbal and non-verbal behaviours.
The purpose of our study was to examine anthropometric measurements in Egyptian children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
And also to compare diagnostic reliability and validity for the Childhood Autism Rating Scale and Gilliam Autism Rating Scale.
This study was a cross sectional study. The study sample was recruited from the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic in Pediatrics’ Hospital of Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt .They will be sub grouped according to their age and sex, after oral consent from children parents.
The study included 119 child with autism between 5 and 9 years of age 95 male and 24 female. Mean age was 57.9 ± 27.3 month.
