Comparison Between the Effect of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition on the Metabolic Function and Histology of the Small Intestine
Mona Abd El-Monem Hegazy;
Abstract
Identifying patients at nutritional risk is crucial, since malnutrition is prevalent among hospitalized patients, and has been associated with adverse clinical outcomes.
Delivering nutrients to sick patients by both the parenteral
and enteral routes may result in reduction in morbidity and mortality, and shorten the length of hospitalization for both medical and surgical patients.
